Note: The overall withdrawal limit from saving accounts will remain unchanged at 24 thousand rupees per week. The limit on withdrawal from current accounts has also been enhanced from 50,000 rupees per week to one lakh rupees. Earlier, the ATM withdrawal limit from Rs. 2500 to Rs. 4500 form 1st of this month.
3. India’s rank in the 2017 Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI)____ 92nd. Note: India has been ranked 92nd out of 118 nations in the 2017 Global Talent Competitiveness Index (GTCI). Note: Earlier, the IMF has expected India’s growth rate at 7.2% in 2017-18 and 7.7% in 2018-19. India’s GDP growth forecast downgraded due to the temporary negative consumption shock induced by cash shortages and payment disruptions associated with the recent currency note withdrawal and exchange initiative.
7. Who has imposed Rs. 75 lakh penalty on Bombay Mercantile Cooperative Bank ___Reserve Bank of India(RBI). Note: Penalty imposed due to violations of norms related to KYC and anti-money laundering
8. The union government has clarified the banks are not authorized to accept deposits under the “Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Deposit Scheme” (PMGKDS)___Co-operative Bank. Note: The scheme was launched on 17th of Dec and will remain open for declarations up to 31st March this year. The PMGKDS permits voluntary declarations of previously undisclosed income with an effective tax rate of 50% and requires assessees to deposit a further 25% of such wealth into a four-year interest-free deposit.
9. Indian Navy’s largest warship has become the first warship to be equipped with its own dedicated ATM ____INS Vikramditya. Note: The ATM will be provided by India’s largest public sector bank State Bank of India (SBI). The services will be on the satellite link and will cater to over two thousand naval personnel deployed on the aircraft carrier.
